The TL431C is a 3-terminal adjustable shunt regulator with specified thermal stability over applicable automotive and commercial temperature ranges. The output voltage may be set to any value between VREF (approximately 2.5V) and 36V with two external resistors. The TL431C has a typical output impedance of 0.2W. Active output circuitry provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making the TL431C excellent replacements for zener diodes in many applications like on-board regulation, adjustable power supplies and switching power supplies.
